You wish to know more about gems, gemstones, precious stones, call them what you want. You want to know what makes them special, beautiful, rare, a joy to behold and treasure for ever.
On this site we shall be discussing gems. I’ll be posting blogs about their beauty, their quality, their origin, their nature and any other subjects you think would be of interest.
I am a Hatton Garden, London based professional gemmologist with over 45 years experience in the UK gem and jewellery trade. A gem educator and past diamond lecturer and past director of gem laboratories. Now trading mostly rare, unusual coloured stones.
I’m not a jeweller: I don’t have a retail jewellery shop. You can buy loose vintage coloured gems, GIA graded diamonds and a small selection of jewels on my ‘shop’ page or book a call to discuss anything you see of interest or an appointment to view in Hatton Garden.
I am a Fellow (by examination) of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (FGA DGA), and a member of The London Diamond Bourse in Hatton Garden and a member of The National Association of Jewellers.
